In the March 17 episode of tvN’s Baeksajang 3, cast members revisited their impressive day 5 sales figures, building excitement for the competition.
Day 5 Sales Surge Highlighted in Preview
The day 6 preview featured hosts Achim, chef Baek Jong-won, Lee Jang-woo, John Park, and Yuri gathered in front of the TV, reliving the previous day’s triumphs. Kimchi Jim’s stall achieved a major hit, while a last-minute sports-themed pojangmacha tent drew crowds, maximizing revenue.
The round’s day 5 sales totaled 1,326 units—equivalent to 2.15 million won—with packaging proving crucial. Yoon Si-yoon noted, “The boss was thrilled as the full package allocation played a key role.” Actual package sales neared 530,000 won, underscoring its impact.
Achieving over 100 million won annually, the standings left 49.63 million won for stage 1 completion. John Park stressed, “We need 2.5 million won daily,” while Baek Jong-won aimed to attract locals with high-turnover bibimbap.
Lee Jang-woo Secures First Place Sans Editing
Amid rumors of favoritism toward major investors, Lee Jang-woo claimed the top spot without any editorial advantages.
Addressing the Payment Controversy
Lee clarified the unpaid payment dispute involving his agency’s sub-brand and a large rice noodle order. “We participate in Hoseokchon’s shareholder operations,” he explained. “Hoseokchon already paid Mujin Co., Ltd., per contract. The issue arose when Mujin failed to remit funds to B Company afterward.”
He emphasized, “No direct contractual ties exist between B Company, Hoseokchon, and actor Lee Jang-woo. Claims that I withheld payments are untrue. Reports suggesting Mujin owned Hoseokchon distort facts—Mujin never held shares there. I have no connection to Mujin.”
