President Lee Jae-myung Visits Bansong Market on 3.15 Anniversary
President Lee Jae-myung and his wife visited Bansong Market in Changwon on March 15 during the 66th anniversary commemoration of the March 15 Democratization Movement. The outing marks the president’s second trip to this popular traditional market, following a visit in March 2024 when he served as Democratic Party leader.
Warm Interactions with Vendors and Shoppers
Merchants and residents greeted the presidential couple with smiles and enthusiastic exchanges. The group shared oysters with vendors and exchanged high-fives, creating a lively atmosphere.
One merchant commented, “I saw the 3.15 commemoration on TV just before the event—how did you make it here?” President Lee replied, “I came for you.”
The president selected fresh market staples, including eggs, tomatoes, seafood, vegetables, and jokbal. Accompanying staffer Kim Yeo-san purchased a mask pack from a cosmetics vendor.
Tasting Local Street Food Delights
The couple savored bungeoppang and tteokbokki, with President Lee remarking, “It’s delicious.” Kim Yeo-san sampled kwabaegi nearby.
Later, at a market eatery, they enjoyed kimchi jjim and gyeranmari. While tasting the dishes, the president asked nearby customers about the best items to purchase, engaging directly with the crowd.
