Comedian Ji Sang-ryeol, aged 55, expressed firm determination to marry his girlfriend Shin Boram, who is 16 years his junior, during a recent episode of KBS 2TV’s ‘Househusband Men Season 2’.
Special Challenge on the Show
Eun Ji-won highlighted concerns about Ji’s future, stating, “If you continue like this, you’ll end up as a lonely elderly person.” To underscore the marriage decision, he introduced a special ‘Cruel Chair’ segment.
Ji Sang-ryeol and Moon Hee-joon visited the home of 64-year-old singer Kim Jang-hoon, a lifelong bachelor. Kim rides a single-rider bicycle without a backrest and maintains excellent physical condition despite his age, freely enjoying outdoor activities.
Shocking Realization Leads to Resolve
Witnessing Kim’s active lifestyle without typical age-related back pain left Ji stunned. He declared, “This can’t be right. I have to get married no matter what!” emphasizing the necessity through heightened emotions during the ‘Cruel Chair’ challenge.
Ji sought advice from Moon Hee-joon on marriage anxieties. Moon shared, “I was scared at first, but spending money on it has been enjoyable.” Ji responded that Moon’s words resonated deeply, sparking new thoughts on commitment. He reflected, “It feels like there’s something inside me saying, ‘If my partner were here…'”
Moon advised, “The type matters, but that person’s feelings are crucial too. You must ask about marriage directly.”
Direct Call to Girlfriend
Kim Jang-hoon then called Shin Boram on speakerphone to discuss Ji’s marriage intentions. When asked her thoughts, Shin replied, “Such words should come after buying a house.”
Eun Ji-won reacted, “Even Boram lacks marriage thoughts right now—that can’t be right,” reinforcing the push for commitment.
