A 21-meter-tall excavator collapsed at a Daegu urban rail Line 2 construction site in Suseong-gu’s Manchon Station area early Monday morning around 9 a.m., injuring three bystanders including a taxi driver.
Incident Details
The heavy machine, used for digging with its extended arm, toppled toward nearby pedestrians during operations. All three victims sustained minor injuries, with two transported to a hospital for treatment.
Traffic Disruptions
Emergency crews blocked the road following the collapse, causing delays for morning commuters as authorities secured the scene and investigated the cause, believed to stem from overload while maneuvering through a narrow passage.
