ILLIT’s debut track ‘Magnetic’ has surpassed 300 million streams on Spotify in Japan, marking the fastest achievement for any overseas female group.
Lightning-Fast Milestone
The song from the group’s mini-album SUPER REAL ME reached this benchmark in just over three months since its March 2024 release. As of January 1, it had already accumulated 300,289,729 total streams worldwide, according to platform data.
Agency representatives highlighted the feat, stating, “‘Magnetic’ is the first No. 1 track on the domestic streaming ranking to hit 300 million streams within 101 weeks.” They added, “This sets a record short time for the top overseas artist on our chart.”
Chart-Topping Dominance
The track claimed the top spot across all genres on major domestic charts and secured No. 1 on Japan’s streaming rankings as of June 17, 2024. It stands out as the quickest K-pop debut single to amass one million streams there.
Its entry into the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and the UK’s Official Singles Top 100 underscores its breakthrough appeal with SUPER REAL ME.
Sustained Global Momentum
On global Spotify’s daily and weekly streaming playlists, ‘Magnetic’ continues to surge in popularity. Projections indicate it will exceed 700 million total streams by November 2025, positioning it as the top K-pop group debut track.
The song’s catchy appeal drives massive listener engagement worldwide, even two years post-release.
