Israel delivered a powerful retaliation against Hezbollah following a missile strike on the northern city of Haifa. The Lebanese militant group launched the attack using drones, prompting Israeli forces to target key assets linked to the Iran-backed organization.
Israeli Military Response
Israeli military spokesperson Rapi Milron stated that “Hezbollah has once again targeted the Iranian regime and struck civilians in Haifa with a major missile.” He added, “This operation remains limited, but further action will follow if needed.”
Forces executed a new campaign against Hezbollah commandos and key personnel inside Lebanon. Strikes hit Beirut airport in southern Lebanon, where militants were active, triggering explosions across 10 locations.
Context and Casualties
This marks the first major clash since the ceasefire agreement between the two sides in November 2024. Previously, Hezbollah fired rockets and drones at Israel in response to orders from Iran’s supreme leader.
Israel confirmed via Telegram that the operation delivered a significant blow to Hezbollah mock targets, focusing on militants in southern Lebanon and critical infrastructure used for launching guided missiles and kites.
Lebanon reported heavy losses, with the Health Ministry confirming at least 31 deaths from the strikes. Officials warned of rocket retaliation if Israel persists with further attacks.
