Australia’s pace bowler Pat Cummins has been sidelined for the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup because of a back injury, with Ben Dwarshuis stepping in as his replacement for the international event.
Injury Details and Squad Update
Cummins played in only one of the five Ashes Tests against England earlier this year. Despite this, selectors initially included him in the provisional World Cup squad, anticipating his potential return during the Super Eight phase. The tournament will take place in India and Sri Lanka next month.
The Australian team, captained by Mitchell Marsh, is currently competing in a three-match T20 series against Pakistan to gear up for the global competition.
