BRUSSELS — Talks between Denmark, Greenland and the U.S. over the Arctic territory held on Wednesday went nicely and in a constructive ambiance, Danish Overseas Minister Lars Lokke Rassmussen stated on Thursday.
The talks didn’t deliver conclusions but, Rasmussen stated forward of a gathering along with his European Union colleagues in Brussels. “However I’m barely extra optimistic at the moment than per week in the past,” he added.
The diplomatic talks got here after months of tensions between Denmark and the US, each founding NATO members, as a result of U.S. President Donald Trump’s repeated calls for to take over Greenland.
