HD Hyundai has clinched its most profitable container ship building order since 2007, signing a contract with world transport firm HMM to construct eight vessels in a deal valued at 2.13 trillion received ($1.4 billion).
The engineering conglomerate stated Monday that its intermediate holding firm, Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KSOE), secured the order to assemble eight 13,400 twenty-foot equal unit (TEU) container ships for HMM.
In line with HD Hyundai, the brand new vessels shall be geared up with dual-fuel engines working on liquefied pure fuel (LNG) and with a gasoline tank 50 % bigger than that of the corporate’s newest mannequin. Every ship will measure 337 meters in size, 51 meters in width and 27.9 meters in top.
