Pace skater Kim Jun-ho has claimed his first World Cup title of the season in Canada.
Kim gained the lads’s 500-meter title with a time of 33.99 seconds on the second Worldwide Skating Union Pace Skating World Cup of the season on the Olympic Oval in Calgary on Saturday (native time).
Jenning De Boo of the Netherlands completed in second place in 34.021 seconds, adopted by Jordan Stolz of the USA at 34.028 seconds.
Kim set a brand new Korean file with a time of 33.78 seconds final weekend on the season-opening World Cup race in Salt Lake Metropolis, Utah, although the time was solely good for the bronze medal then.
In Calgary, Kim clocked the second-fastest cut up within the opening 100m at 9.39 seconds and coated the remainder of the race in 24.6 seconds for his first World Cup gold this season.
The 2 World Cup medals this month bode properly for Kim’s probabilities on the upcoming Winter Olympics in Italy, the place the 30-year-old will pursue his first profession Olympic medal.
