The stays of two Thai veterans who fought within the 1950-53 Korean Battle can be laid to relaxation at a cemetery within the southeastern metropolis of Busan, the veterans ministry stated Wednesday.
The stays of Manoch Pummaneekorn and Narong Kae Yeamniyom can be buried on the U.N. Memorial Cemetery in Busan, in line with the ministry.
A ceremony to mark the repatriation will happen Thursday at Incheon Worldwide Airport, attended by Veterans Minister Kwon Oh-eul, the highest Thai envoy to South Korea and the surviving relations.
The stays will then be referred to Seoul Nationwide Cemetery earlier than being moved to the cemetery in Busan. A burial ceremony for the stays, hosted by the Thai Embassy in Seoul, is predicted to be held on Friday afternoon.
As a former petty officer of the Royal Thai Navy, Pummaneekorn took half in strike operations aboard a frigate through the battle from October 1950 to July 1951.
Yeamniyom, who served as an Military non-public on the time, participated in battles close to the thirty eighth parallel and operations involving the retreat of U.N. forces from North Korea in December 1950.
