To fight a surge in modern-day on-line scams, Singapore has turned to a punishment from the previous: caning.
This week, Singapore’s parliament amended legal regulation within the city-state to introduce caning as a penalty for scammers and rip-off mules after tens of hundreds of scams leading to practically $385 million in losses had been reported within the first half of this 12 months alone.
