Police on Wednesday raided the Korean headquarters of Italian luxurious model Bulgari as a part of an investigation into allegations that the Unification Church gifted a Bulgari watch to former Oceans Minister Chun Jae-soo.
The raid happened at Bulgari Korea’s workplace in southern Seoul, with investigators searching for to grab data of purchases made by the church’s officers and monitor the whereabouts of the watch Chun allegedly obtained in 2018.
Chun is accused of receiving the luxurious watch value over 10 million received ($6,900) from a former church official, who can also be implicated in different bribery circumstances, together with one involving former first woman Kim Keon Hee.
The previous minister, who has been booked on fees of accepting a bribe, has strongly rejected the allegations, denying ever receiving unlawful items from the church.
Police searched Chun’s residence and workplace final week however failed to seek out the luxurious watch.
