Theatre actor Yoon Seok-hwa / Yonhap
Yoon Seok-hwa, a number one determine of Korea’s first era of theater actors, died Friday after battling a mind tumor. She was 69.
In keeping with the Korean Actors Affiliation, Yoon died at 9:53 a.m. at Severance Hospital in Seoul, with members of the family and shut acquaintances at her facet.
Yoon had been in therapy since October 2022, when she underwent surgical procedure for a malignant mind tumor following her look in a manufacturing of “Hamlet” earlier that 12 months. Born in Seoul in 1956, Yoon made her stage debut in 1975. She earned widespread recognition for her performances in acclaimed productions similar to “Agnes of God” and “Hamlet,” and was extensively credited with serving to set up and popularize trendy Korean theater.
